Crafting crafting crafting

EDITING:: Joining the party over at Donna's ~ FunkyJunkInteriors .. not only does she do some of the most amazing makeovers and projects there's a linky party for window treatments tonight,, so go,, take a look at what everybody has done!!

Funky Junk's Saturday Nite Special

Been finding all kinds of things i want to do this week.. Lindsay from LivingwithLindsay featured this bookpage wreath,, and I thought that is too cute and I can do that, so I did it that very night.. this was a really simple project and it didnt take too long, although i think mine might need a few more pages added here and there. If you want to see the original inspiration click here.

I've had the letters cut out to make this sign for weeks now, I was gonna do it my usual way but decided to paint them on this board that was originally a "BOO" sign from the dollar tree..

I also made a simple little valance for the kitchen window,, which looks much better than the ugly lacy one that was there.. (dont look at the dirty blinds)

A few weeks ago i finally got around to making some drapes for the living room, out of drop cloth, what else? I love them and this material. Got lots of ideas for the rest of it.

Thanks for stoppy by and looking around. I'm off to find more stuff that I won't have time to do.. happy crafting!

All about the cake

Randy & Kelly are getting married in December and Kelly's bridal shower was yesterday. This was her cake. My FIRST time ever doing roses.. I started practicing only 3 days before and believe me the verse that says "I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me" was never more true than this weekend. Yes, God will even help you make roses. Cant wait for another reason to practice some more.

Make some Art Monday..

Have had a wonderful weekend,, busy but good. I'm linking up with ChrissieGrace for Make some Art Monday. Okay, i know it may be stretching it a bit to call this art, but the theme was quotes and I do love some quotes. I had a brand new project in mind, but life and a bridal shower and other things had to come first. So im posting a previous quote item i've done.. "Live Simply, Love greatly, Laugh Readily, Speak Kindly And leave the rest to God". Thanks for stopping by and be sure to go on over and say Hi to Chrissie and check out all the other posts linked up.

strike out

I know alot of people know how to do this ,, but i just learned today, pretty cool.. and so easy.

All about Sandy

Its Monday,, and I wish i could find the words but its so hard.

Sandy Alexis Mann ~ October 2001 - October 2009

We lost a much loved family pet this morning, her name was Sandy- Sandy Alexis Mann is what the kids named her. A yellow lab. She was perhaps the best dog in the world, at least to us she was. We got her for the kids as a Christmas present in 19992001. She was the family dog but she bonded with Jeff. He took up time with her and taught her to sit, speak, and fetch. And she knew what it meant when you told her "daddy's home", she would run and start looking for his truck to pull in. She was so smart and loveable and loyal and was always carrying something around in her mouth, whether it was a sock, a leaf, a ball or plastic bottle. I know she loved us as much as we loved her. I've never been a dog person until we got her. She was more than a dog she was part of our family and she'll never be forgotten

I did it without my hubby,

Hey, everybody

The Shanty2Chic girls are having a "I did it without my hubby" party.

This is a memo/photo holder that I made awhile back for my daughter. I really needed to cut the boards and make them all even and such, but I didnt want to ask "him" for help so I just laid out the boards and stapled them together and then modpodged the whole thing with brown paper. After all that glue and paper it held together really good.

You can click here to check out Whitney and Ashley's blog and see all the other posts that others have linked up.

Happy Fall Ya'll

From one pumpkin to another!!!!!!! A woman was asked by a coworker,
'What is it like to be a Christian?' The coworker replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin.'
God picks you from the patch, brings you in,
and washes all the dirt off of you.
Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.
Then He carves you a new smiling face and
puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'
Have a wonderful and blessed Fall season!

Apple pie

I found the recipe for this apple pie at the pioneer womans blog. It sounded simple enough. So i thought i'd give it a try tonight. When the pie crust would not roll out and was entirely too crumbly (before it was baked) I thought for sure that i had really goofed and wasted alot of stuff for nothing. But I shouldnt have worried, i kept right at it, pieced the crust together into the pie plate,, and you'd never know it, except that I just told ya.. but anyway,, this pie was delicious. A little different than the same ole apple pie.. and it has yummy caramel topping. Oh so good!

Just another thought ..

I have no idea where today's quote originated. I wish I knew. I've rec'd it in emails(numerous times) and on lots of other blogs. ( And I'm hoping I havent posted this in the past and forgot about it.. oops)

I Believe...
That just because two people argue,it doesn't mean they don't love each other, and just because they don't argue,it doesn't mean they do love each other.
I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends may change.
I Believe...
That no matter how good friends are, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance; same goes for true love.
I Believe...
That you can do something in an angry instant that will give you heartache forever.
I Believe...
That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I Believe...
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.
I Believe...
That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I Believe....
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.
I Believe...
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done, when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I Believe...
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I Believe...
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.
I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry, I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
I Believe...
That no matter how badly your heart is broken, the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I Believe...
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.
I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of seconds by people who don't even know you.
I Believe...
That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.
I Believe....
That credentials on the wall do not make someone a decent human being.
I Believe...
That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.
I Believe...
"The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything. "

No vinyl lettering?? DIY

As you know I love quotes and things with names on them. And I havent ventured into the vinyl lettering thing yet,, so whats a girl to do?? Make something that looks just as good. I made this sign for my mama & daddy.
Used a scrap piece of wood that I sanded down just a bit,, found a font that I liked in Microsoft word and printed the letters out. I then pasted those onto a pc of cardstock, cut them out and to make the letters a little more bold, I laid them out and spray painted them with my dollar store paint. After the letters have been glued/decoupaged on, and the sign has been sealed they almost look like vinyl. So that works for me. This is the 2nd sign I've done like this. Cant wait to try some more.

Thanks for stopping by!

(Hope you'll leave a comment,, I'd love to visit your blog too! )

Dont break a leg

About this time last year I had to scratch my leg like this,, with an old kitchen utensil,,,

And take baths like this,, with my leg propped up on a level to keep it out of the water..
Is that a little more than you wanted or ever needed to know?? Just reminding myself that although somedays I hate having to get up and go to work and leave the house.. this time last year there were days that I felt I was gonna go crazy because I couldnt get around good and wasnt able to go and do everything I wanted to do. And I "swore" that I wouldnt complain about going to work or running errands or anything again. So, on those days that I just want to stay home and not go to work or anywhere else; I remind myself that this time last year I would've paid to be able to go to work just to get out of the house and that I should be thankful for just being able to get up and go and do as i please. I am so GRATEFUL that my leg healed very nicely and I didnt have any additional complications with it. Thank you Lord!!
