visions of crafting, sewing, decorating .. in my head

Does this happen to everyone out there or is it me,, again I'm suspicious of ADD? I have so many blogs that i like to follow and they offer lots of creative inspiration but while i''m there i find other sites to click on and then another and so on and so on. I'll see one idea and before it even clicks in my brain good, i've spotted another and another,, and my head feels all swimmy and stuff.. I know it can't be just me.
Athomeingeorgia had the last letter of her name scattered on the wall and that was a really cool looking thing to do,, think i might need to try that.
She also made some fun reindeer poop that could be given Add Imageout for "happies" at all those parties you might be going to this time of year.
And then there is reverse window painting, so cool, had not seen that one until today.. would make really nice Christmas gifts for sisters, inlaws and such.

Thats all i can remember right now,, but so much creativity out there. So many times we have the things to create with right at our fingertips we just have to think outside the box.

Until tomorrow..

My mamaw

Ruth Morrison - - -
my mamaw mother of two
Christian crocheted
great cook/baker avid reader loved everyone
played board games with us grandchildren
sewed her own clothes was a foster mom
loved watching game shows & soap operas

My mamaw was the greatest mamaw ever, she’s no longer with us (for many years now) and today is/was her birthday. She was a crafty person herself and never met a stranger so she would’ve loved this blogging phenomenon. I felt it only right to recognize the birthday of one of the most influential people of my life here in blog world. I know she’s with Jesus and we’ll all see her again one day. Until then . . .

Happy Birthday Mamaw

I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."

-Stephen Grellet

I love this quote found here and I love to read it over and over.

Back Porch Christmas Tree

Hey Ya'll - Happy Wednesday !
This is my little "Charlie Brown" Christmas pine tree. It is just 3 limbs that fell from a pine tree during our snow last week put together and stuck in a pot. I threw on some lights a few decorations, including some fabric scraps and called it done. I added another sign i painted on the window sill. You can't see it too well. Its not that pretty but with the porch light off and the Christmas tree on it adds a touch of Christmas (not to mention a little bit of light) to the entry way at night.

TRASH TO TREASURE TUESDAY

Hey, everybody its Trash to Treasure Tuesday.. Be sure to go over to Diane's and check out hers and all the other unique trash to treasure creations. Its so fun to see somebody take something that would normally get tossed in the trash or burn pile and turn it into something decorative or useful. My mama & daddy have been redoing their floors and putting down hardwood. These are some scraps of the boards that were cut. I have lots more of these so maybe i''ll see how many different ways I can think of to recycle them. For this weeks creation I printed the words from the computer and cut them out with an exacto knife. I painted the piece of wood red and added some green polka dots. When the paint was dry I decoupaged the letters on top. For now I have it sittin in the middle of my wreath above my mantel. The mantel is still not finished so who knows where it will end up.

Hope you enjoy my inexpensive Christmas decoration. Thanks for stoppin by!!

Hey again

I found this fun little contest over at junkmarketstyle and decided to join. I made this dog collar for my daughters chihuahua using a plain black collar and scraps of material and ribbon. It probably took about 30 minutes. Turns out i loosened the collar too much and its a little bit too big but she still wears it proudly. And surprisingly hasn't chewed her way out of it.

Let it snow , Let it snow , Let it snow !

Hey everybody

We were so excited to get this on Thursday ,, it was beautiful. We really don't see snow that much in MS but when we do we celebrate- we stay outta school, we eat soup all day, we watch movies and of course make dozens of trips in and out of the house to get just one more picture of the snow.. last count i had taken 72. And then when the power goes out at 11 a.m. we crank the generator, run the extension cords(for the tv of course) and huddle in the living room in front of the fireplace. The lights were out for about 8 hours,, it was kinda fun though. The roads were nasty and so my two oldest were stuck here at home with us and it was nice having all three at home just hanging out, watchin tv, building snowmen and playing games. It was a blessed day!

DO YOU FART IN BED? IF THIS STORY DOESN'T MAKE YOU CRY FROM LAUGHING SO HARD, LET ME KNOW AND I'LL PRAY FOR YOU. THIS IS A STORY ABOUT A COUPLE WHO HAD BEEN HAPPILY MARRIED FOR YEARS. THE ONLY FRICTION IN THEIR MARRIAGE WAS THE HUSBAND'S HABIT OF FARTING LOUDLY EVERY MORNING WHEN HE AWOKE.THE NOISE WOULD WAKE HIS WIFE AND THE SMELL WOULD MAKE HER EYES WATER AND MAKE HER GASP FOR AIR. EVERY MORNING SHE WOULD PLEAD WITH HIM TOSTOP RIPPING THEM OFF BECAUSE IT WAS MAKING HER SICK.HE TOLD HER HE COULDN'T.STOP IT ANDTHAT IT WAS PERFECTLY NATURAL.SHE TOLD HIM TO SEE A DOCTOR,SHE WAS CONCERNED THAT ONE DAYHE WOULD BLOW HIS GUTS OUT. THE YEARS WENT BY AND HE CONTINUED TO RIP THEM OUT.THEN ONE THANKSGIVING MORNING AS SHEWAS PR EPARING THE TURKEY FOR DINNERAND HE WAS UPSTAIRS SOUND ASLEEP,SHE LOOKED AT THE INNARDS AND NECK,GIZZARD, LIVER AND ALL THE SPARE PARTSAND A MALICIOUS THOUGHT CAME TO HER. SHE TOOK THE BOWL AND WENT UPSTAIRS WHEREHER HUSBAND WAS SOUND ASLEEP AND,GENTLY PULLING THE BED COVERS BACK,SHE PULLED BACK THE ELASTIC WAISTBAND OF HIS UNDERPANTS AND EMPTIED THE BOWLOF TURKEY GUTS INTO HIS SHORTS SOME TIME LATER SHE HEARD HER HUSBANDWAKEN WITH HIS USUAL TRUMPETING WHICH WASFOLLOWED BY A BLOOD CURDLING SCREAMAND THE SOUND OF FRANTIC FOOT STEPSAS HE RAN INTO THE BATH ROOM.THE WIFE COULD HARDLY CONTROL HERSELFAS SHE ROLLED ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING,TEARS IN HER EYES!AFTER YEARS OF TORTURE SHE RECKONEDSHE HAD GOT HIM BACK PRETTY GOOD.. ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES LATER,HER HUSBAND CAME DOWSTAIRS IN HISBLOODSTAINED UNDERPANTS WITH ALOOK OF HORROR ON HIS FACE.SHE BIT HER LIP AS SHE ASKEDHIM WHAT WAS THE MATTER. HE SAID, 'HONEY YOU WERE RIGHT.''ALL THESE YEARS YOU HAVE WARNEDME AND I DIDN'T LISTEN TO YOU'. 'WHAT DO YOU MEAN?'ASKED HIS WIFE. 'WELL, YOU ALWAYS TOLD ME THAT ONE DAYI WOULD END UP FARTING MY GUTS OUT,AND TODAY IT FINALLY HAPPENED.' BUT BY THE GRACE OF GOD, SOME VASELINE AND TWO FINGERS.I THINK I GOT MOST OF THEM BACK IN.'

Frames Frames Frames

These are a few frames that I've had for awhile now and just haven't decided what to do with them. I didn't pay anything for them and they seem to be good quality frames. I love the one with the oval ,, the frame is a whole piece of wood, its not put together at the corners like lots of frames are. The other one is really unique,, I haven't taken it apart because I didn't want to mess it up if it might be worth something, but if you can look closer the yellow mat around the inside of the frame is some sort of velvet or something like that. I tried to take a good picture of the front and back to give you a better idea of what it is. If anybody has any ideas for what to do with them I'd love to hear from you. Leave me a comment and shoot me an email.. Thanks for looking.

Something from nothing

Here is a Thanksgiving plate ( I know a little late for that) that I made this year after seeing a video on decoupaging on youtube from expert village.com. All that was used was a glass plate ($1.50) a Thanksgiving napkin (pack of 12 $1.00) and a piece of yellow tissue paper (free from gift wrap stash) and some decoupage. I cut the design out of the napkin, centered(it really is centered, It's just wopsided in the pic) and decoupaged that on the back of the plate first and then the tissue paper on top of that. When it was dry I took a razor edge and went around the edge of the plate and cut the excess tissue paper off. Then I took it outside and lightly spray painted around the edges on the backside with a burnt orange/rusty/copper type color. I was really pleased with how it turned out. Think I might make a Christmas set for my mantel. Thanks for stopping by.

WOW!! As I was looking around some of my favorite blogs today I came across an awesome give-a-way at Lapetitechic for a Wii console, Wii fit game and balance board. Entries are being accepted until Dec 5th so hurry over and say "Hi" and enter your chance to win. Winner is being announced on the 8th. So exciting! Good luck

Okay, so this post is a little late. We've recently celebrated 3 birthdays in our family. Starting with my mom's (65th) in October, then my daughters(20th) and then mine (40th). We had a cake and dinner for my mom at my brothers house this year. For Amb's,,, (Oh my gosh I can't believe she is twenty) we celebrated with a "soup-er" dinner and birthday cake with the family at our house and for mine we all (or rather the ones that wasn't working or hunting) got together at mama's for dinner and cake. I made mama a "medicare" cake, for Amb's I just made cheese cake which is her favorite and a bundt cake for anybody that didn't like cheesecake. Mama ordered mine from somewhere and in the pic you can see that they almost forgot to put the "40" at the bottom. My kids decorated the truck and made a sign for my "lordy lordy 40 b'day"... they're so sweet. Amb's boyfriend built her a wooden chest ,, it is very nice and she was really surprised.
