Just another thought ..

I have no idea where today's quote originated. I wish I knew. I've rec'd it in emails(numerous times) and on lots of other blogs. ( And I'm hoping I havent posted this in the past and forgot about it.. oops)

I Believe...
That just because two people argue,it doesn't mean they don't love each other, and just because they don't argue,it doesn't mean they do love each other.
I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends may change.
I Believe...
That no matter how good friends are, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance; same goes for true love.
I Believe...
That you can do something in an angry instant that will give you heartache forever.
I Believe...
That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I Believe...
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.
I Believe...
That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I Believe....
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.
I Believe...
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done, when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I Believe...
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I Believe...
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.
I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry, I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
I Believe...
That no matter how badly your heart is broken, the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I Believe...
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.
I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of seconds by people who don't even know you.
I Believe...
That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.
I Believe....
That credentials on the wall do not make someone a decent human being.
I Believe...
That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.
I Believe...
"The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything. "

No vinyl lettering?? DIY

As you know I love quotes and things with names on them. And I havent ventured into the vinyl lettering thing yet,, so whats a girl to do?? Make something that looks just as good. I made this sign for my mama & daddy.
Used a scrap piece of wood that I sanded down just a bit,, found a font that I liked in Microsoft word and printed the letters out. I then pasted those onto a pc of cardstock, cut them out and to make the letters a little more bold, I laid them out and spray painted them with my dollar store paint. After the letters have been glued/decoupaged on, and the sign has been sealed they almost look like vinyl. So that works for me. This is the 2nd sign I've done like this. Cant wait to try some more.

Thanks for stopping by!

(Hope you'll leave a comment,, I'd love to visit your blog too! )

Dont break a leg

About this time last year I had to scratch my leg like this,, with an old kitchen utensil,,,

And take baths like this,, with my leg propped up on a level to keep it out of the water..
Is that a little more than you wanted or ever needed to know?? Just reminding myself that although somedays I hate having to get up and go to work and leave the house.. this time last year there were days that I felt I was gonna go crazy because I couldnt get around good and wasnt able to go and do everything I wanted to do. And I "swore" that I wouldnt complain about going to work or running errands or anything again. So, on those days that I just want to stay home and not go to work or anywhere else; I remind myself that this time last year I would've paid to be able to go to work just to get out of the house and that I should be thankful for just being able to get up and go and do as i please. I am so GRATEFUL that my leg healed very nicely and I didnt have any additional complications with it. Thank you Lord!!

Just a thought

I love to read quotes, poems and little sayings,, always have and still do. Not sure why,, I guess because you get a little mini moral lesson with most of them without having to do alot of reading or researching . Or the fact that most quotes make you stop and dig a little deeper mentally and really think? Does that make sense?? I'm going to start documenting my favorite quotes and such here on my little 'ole blog. And sometimes there just might be a little bit of information about the author or source. I saw a version of this quote on ThePolkaDotDaisy's blog today and I really liked it. So I decided to google his name and this is how it was quoted in Wikipedia. Which still says the same thing, just a different way.

Todays quote ~ "I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I should do and, with the help of God, I will do"
Go here to read more about Edward Everett Hale.

This quote says to me that just because I may not be able to do the grandest of all gestures to help someone I can still do something.

I'm 103 today,,,

Okay I'm not really but I've actually made it to 103 posts ,, WOW. Never in a million years did I think I'd still be doing this blogging thing a whole year and 103 posts later but here I am and I have learned A LOT of stuff.. more sewing tips, repurposing ideas and some tips for the actual blog. Just the other day I found out how to add the "within a link" thingy you see down there below this post,, thanks to Donna at FunkyJunkInteriors,,, and her very informative and detailed post in figuring this out. And if you've never been by her site you should really check it out,, she is one talented blogger. She builds all sorts of things from barnwood shutters to coffee tables and uses material that she already has for most of her projects. So go by and take a look around and be sure to leave a comment and say "Hey".

So much inspiration..

I love trying learning new things. It gives me such a sense of accomplishment. Which is why the DIYshowoff is one of my favorite blogs. She takes the time to find and feature lots of other bloggers that are nice enough to share DIY ideas and projects as well as some of her own. If you're looking for ideas or just want a little bit of encouragement and inspiration than you really need to check out this blog.

This was one of the very first features I found after discovering her blog. This chair was done Roeshel at Evangelines Vine. ( click the picture to go directly to the link) and she goes through the process of how she turned a drab chair into a fab chair.

And it led to the creation of my magazine rack using the same technique with the letters.
