editing to add a big THANK YOU for all the comments about changing my blog header and it was super simple following the tutorial found at at Cozy Little House .  yay!!! Still looking for just the right pictures though so i'll be changing it up again.  Thanks again.. we're anticipating snow and ice tomorrow/tomorrow night.. brrrr cold!!!

Does anyone know how to make my picture header stretch across the width of my blog,, does that make sense???

  1. Not sure you'd want the whole picture stretched. Might make the people look funny. You could just have a stretched background, with your pic in the center or off to one side. I have a long pic on my blog header, but I'd have to think about how I did it.

  2. Kim @ Savvy Southern Style just posted tonight about her new blog header. One of her blog friends, Brenda @ Cozy Little House created the header for her and Brenda is going to write a tutorial on the how-to's and post it on her blog sometime this weekend. This should probably be the answer you need.
    Hope it helps.

  3. Hmmmm, I created my header using GIMP (free downloadable software almost identical to Photoshop). I just created an image that was 1000 pixels wide (the width I have set for my header). GIMP is not very intuitive, though, so if you don't have a child in the house to walk you through it, it might be hard to use. You might also play around with cropping and enlarging your image(s)and words using Paint. Paint is on pretty much every computer under "programs", then under "accessories". Using Paint is more of a "trial and error" method, but I did my old header that way and it worked. Just some thoughts....

  5. I think the width you have it is perfect for the blog. Looking good. Thanks for following, following you back now.
