Your blog reviewed??

While I would LOVE  to be going to Blissdom, cause that would just be soooo much fun, I"m NOT,  so instead I'm so excited to be part of a very unique blog hop. Gail at My Repurposed Life and Megan from Beauty in the Attempt are hosting “The Bold and the Beautiful-your blog reviewed”.

Please take a look around my blog, check out the layout, pages, buttons, sidebar and gadgets. I would love for you to gently critique my blog. I’m hoping you will leave me some positive feedback about my blog. It would be great if you could give me constructive criticism but be sure to tell me what you like about my blog too! Do you like my pictures? Does my blog load quickly for you? How about the font? All tips and tidbits welcome!

You are welcome to join the party, it starts Thursday night and is open for a week.  Click here to get the details and join in.

Looking forward to hearing from you!  Duty calls, gotta get to work.. Y'all have a good one.

~ Debbie ~

  2. Hey ya! I'm here! I like the layout of your page, the colors, your header, etc!

I think it's really important to keep your readers on your page by having your links open in a new window. If you would like info on how to do that, shoot me an email, and let me know if you blog in blogger or windows live writer. gail@myrepurposedlife.net

the DIY Club button is not working. They (we) have changed servers or something. You will need to (re)grab the code. :( I had to too.

I'm glad you have your picture and about me right up top!

Gently suggesting that you shorten your blog roll. I prefer (not that it makes it the best way) to show the most recent updated blogs on my blog roll. I also choose to show only 10 (visitors can easily "show all")
I'm glad you have link within, but if you put some of your favorite projects on your sidebar it would bring your visitors deeper into your blog, enticing them to return.
Again... I am NOT showing up as a follower, I have no idea why.
overall, love your layout, the colors etc. Very easy on the eyes. no music! :) that's always a plus.
have a great weekend! thanks so much for linking up debbie!

  3. Hi Debbie ~ Thought I would pop in and let you know that I am enjoying checking out your blog. I like the banner with the different photos but one suggestion I have would be to move your About me up to the top - that way we can see who the lovely blog owner is!
Thanks so much -- I am looking forward reading more :)

  4. Hi Debbie, I'm stopping by from the blog hop. I'm glad Gail is able to shae with us the "technical stuff" that we need to fix! :-) I like the picture of the ongoing project...it makes me want to see the finished project. When I find a blog with a great project, it makes me want to see more, so I like to have the blog archive with past posts up a little higher! ;-) I'm a lazy scroller, but it would keep folks here if they saw all that you have to offer!
I'd like your opinion on my blog too...
    Have a great weekend!

  5. Hello! I found you through the blog hop....I'm in Mississippi too! I followed your blog.

My only "advice" is to make the name of your blog easier to spot on your header! :)

  6. Hi Debbie,
    nice blog. agree with above posters.. blog title could be more prominent. i do love the 'in the works' photo in sidebar! {might have to borrow that idea!}
enjoyed my visit! & new follower! :)
    many blessings,

  7. LOVE the in the works section...builds interest and a great draw to keep folks coming back! I might be stealing that idea :)

As far as fixing anything, it seems like there a lot of buttons in the middle of your sidebar and a lot of text in different categories at the bottom. Maybe mixing the up and consolidating would make it easier to follow?? That's probably just me being ocd though....:)

  8. Hi!

Just wanted to pop in and tell you I love your personalized banner and that your "E-mail" me is a cute little button! You've got great colors going on, and it is easy to read!

  9. Hello there! My favorite thing is the "in the works" photo on the side, what a great idea! I like the layout you have here, it's easy to read, no squinting to try and read the fonts!

    Great blog, keep it up!

  10. Hi Debbie,

Popping in via the blog hop & wanted to say that I really like your blog. I do think that your title should be a little more prominent in your header. Oh, and I am a fan of using the blog archives to look at past posts so I wish I didn't have to scroll all the way to the end to find them.

  12. Hopping over for the link party. Like your header it reflects your "about me" nicely.

In the works is a clever idea, anxious to see the table finished.

  13. I like your blog posts, but the banner is really confusing, I would like to see something more clear and something that pops and gets my attention. There are also a few links that are not working on your side edge.

  14. Hello, visiting from the blog hop. Thank you for leaving me a comment. I will be taking the word verification off as soon as I can figure it out. I love your blog. I don't know much so I would not change anything. Keep up the good work.

  15. Hi there, popping over from the blog hop:) It looks like you have already heeded some advice and moved your profile up?? Looks good. I also like the current project photo.

I am not sure why but there are three question marks on your sidebar... photos that are taking a long time to load perhaps? Two under your "labels" and one just above "Dreamy Nest".

I think I would switch up your header a bit... your blog title definitely blends in with the photos. In your profile you talk about sewing, baking and crafting... perhaps you could add some of those things to your header?

And, one of the comments I received was about moving up my post archives, which I thought was a great idea:)
