TRASH TO TREASURE TUESDAY

Hey, everybody its Trash to Treasure Tuesday.. Be sure to go over to Diane's and check out hers and all the other unique trash to treasure creations. Its so fun to see somebody take something that would normally get tossed in the trash or burn pile and turn it into something decorative or useful. My mama & daddy have been redoing their floors and putting down hardwood. These are some scraps of the boards that were cut. I have lots more of these so maybe i''ll see how many different ways I can think of to recycle them. For this weeks creation I printed the words from the computer and cut them out with an exacto knife. I painted the piece of wood red and added some green polka dots. When the paint was dry I decoupaged the letters on top. For now I have it sittin in the middle of my wreath above my mantel. The mantel is still not finished so who knows where it will end up.

Hope you enjoy my inexpensive Christmas decoration. Thanks for stoppin by!!

  8. I love your "Trash to Treasure". It is right up my alley. I am an art teacher and can NOT understand why the students won't do some digging for some good trash. When I was in school, I dug through my Dad's junk to find things to make other things out of. I hope to begin "Thursday Thirteen" and now "Trash to Treasure Tuesday". I am a new follower of yours!
